Who runs My Castlemaine
My Castlemaine is built and run by Shadowtek Pty Ltd, a Queensland web company that started in 1998 and has run full time since 2015. We build, host and secure websites for Australian businesses, and we built the MY Directory Network to give local businesses a free, simple place to be found in their own town.
The people
Steve Dey · Founder and director
Steve builds and runs the network: the sites, the listings and the systems behind them. His background is servers, hosting and website security.
Kirsten Dey · Director and customer care lead
Kirsten leads customer care and looks after billing and account questions.
Adam Benz · Marketing partner
Adam founded Lead Laundry, the Gold Coast lead generation agency that is the network's marketing partner. Since 2016 Lead Laundry has run more than 1,200 campaigns and managed over $5M in ad spend, and Adam brings that experience to how the directories help local businesses get enquiries.
How we work
- A basic listing is free, and stays free.
- We take no commission on bookings or enquiries. They go straight to the business.
- No lock-in contracts. Featured can be cancelled at any time.
- Listings start from public Google business details, and owners can claim and correct them for free.
- Recommendations are positive only, confirmed by email, and never paid for.
- Featured listings are always labelled as Featured.
- Ask us to remove a listing and we will.
Keeping your listing safe
- A claim is approved only when the owner confirms it from the business's own email address, or after we check it by hand, so nobody else can take over your listing.
- Owners sign in with a private link sent by email. There are no passwords to steal.
- Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store card details.
- Every directory runs behind Cloudflare's firewall. Shadowtek has built and secured websites since 1998.
The network
My Castlemaine is one of 13 local directories in the MY Directory Network, across Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Malaysia. Each one lists only businesses in its own area.
